After eight years with my feathered compatriots, the parakeet era has drawn to a close today with the adoption of Sonny, Kiki, Sonny Junior and Corky by a young lady and her boyfriend who reside here in Manayunk. The bird room has already been converted into a guest room in anticipation of Ruth and Andy's visit later this week and will soon become a nursery for "Chickpea". God speed, 'keets, God speed.
